We heart FuseBox

For our "soon to be announced" application we have been using the latest version of FuseBox together with the latest Version of ColdFusion and its integrated AJAX functionalities.

FuseBox allowed us to work with the MVC (Model-View-Controller) concept and using our CFC (ColdFusion Components) with the class and the new instantiate tags. Once we got used to how FuseBox calls objects and uses them, it made our development time faster and the coding more structured.

I know, that there are some people that don't like to use the XML circuit file definitions for the fuseactions, but I personally like the XML quite a lot. The latest FuseBox 5.5 should be covering a way to use FuseBox without the XML circuit files but it remains to be seen how well that will work. Personally, we don't see a benefit of not using the XML circuit file.

Anyhow, we will be happy to post some more news on our development and of course what our application is supposed to be doing after we are ready for revealing it.

FuseBox 5.5 presentation

A little bit older news, but if you think about getting into FuseBox or any kind of framework then head over to the FuseBox 5.5 presentation that Sean Corfield gave.

FuseBox 5.5 will make it possible to use the framework without any XML configuration. Personally, I don’t see why the XML configuration gets people all worked up on, but see for yourself.
