Open BlueDragon Steering Committee interview’s

A lot of news and movement is coming out of the Open BlueDragon project. Last week all the people on the Steering Committee were introduced and now there are interviews available with some of them. Very cool effort of Alan Williamson.

Here are the first two available interviews:

Any Allan – Interview

Peter Amiri – Interview

The Open BlueDragon Steering Committee initial participant

Alan Williamson just posted who is on the initial Open BlueDragon Steering Committee. I am sure, that with these Gentlemans on board BlueDragon will have a bright future.

One more thing that will be different in the BlueDragon J2EE open source offering

Vince Bonfanti was giving a talk to the ColdFusionWeeklyPodcast and in it he states that there will be a additional 4th feature that will not make the cut in the open source edition (we already stated the difference of the open source versus the commercial one).

“Precompile templates” is a way to ship your application without shipping the source. Vince states that it does not make sense (for New Atlanta) to give away their source and people will have the option to hide the source of their applications. This is philosophically not correct for them.

No problem from our end. Since we will offer our Digital Asset Management along with the BlueDragon as open source, we welcome this change.
