Adobe Air beta 3, Flex 3 beta 3 and Brio beta

Look at this, Adobe AIR beta 3 and Flex 3 beta 3 are now available.

In case you have been living in the bushes Adobe Flex is a cross platform, open source framework for creating rich Internet applications that run identically in all major browsers and operating systems. On the other hand, Adobe AIR lets developers use their existing web development skills in HTML, AJAX, Flash and Flex to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop.

And we got BRIO beta. Brio is a web meeting service built with collaboration in mind for individual professionals and small businesses. With Brio, you can instantly communicate and collaborate through an easy-to-use, easy-to-access online personal meeting room. Built on Adobe's Flash platform, Brio operates inside most popular web browsers, so you can start a meeting without worrying if others have a compatible system or the right software.

Very cool stuff. Nowadays there is no way around Adobe if you engage in serious online application building! (No we don't work for Adobe but are avid fans of their technologies)

Flex and ColdFusion 8 on Leopard

Ok, we might get this totally wrong and it might look like we don't know what we are doing, so any help is appreciated but….

Like many others we upgraded to 10.5 Leopard and had some problems with ColdFusion. After reinstalling ColdFusion 8 but with the Multi Server (JRun) option it does work.

Then we installed the Flex Builder 2 or 3. All fine so far.

But the real problem is we CAN NOT connect to ColdFusion in any way we have tried. Like when one creates a new Flex-Project we get to choose to connect to ColdFusion with Flash Remoting. Then can enter the ColdFusion Server. Since we don't have the build it one, we enter the root path and the URL (http://localhost) but then get the message "Invalid root. A config file must exist in WEB-INF/flex."…….

So, what to do? We tried about everything but could not get it to work. Any help very much appreciated.
