Flex 3.0 and Air 1.0 released today

Ok, we are probably the last ones that blog about it, but never the less it is worth to note that Adobe released Flex 3.0 and AIR 1.0.

In the words of Adobe Flex is; “Flex is a highly productive, free open source framework for building and maintaining expressive web applications that deploy consistently on all major browsers, desktops, and operating systems.” and to AIR they state that; “Adobe AIR offers an exciting new way to engage customers with innovative, branded desktop applications, without requiring changes to existing technology, people, or processes.”.

In the end it means that Adobe got the killer suite; ColdFusion as the data engine, Flex as the RIA tool and AIR for bringing the whole web application down to the desktop level. Pretty sweet. Now is the best time to turn to Adobe for all your development needs.

Apple Updates Leopard

We are probably the last ones to blog about this, but Apple just released two important updates to Leopard.

MacBookPro Software Update 1.1

This update addresses a responsiveness issue on MacBook and MacBook Pro notebook computers. Some MacBook and MacBook Pro systems may occasionally experience a temporary suspension of keyboard input which can last a minute or longer. The Mac OS X 10.5.1 update is required before installing the MacBook, MacBook Pro Software Update 1.1.

FINALLY, this was driving us crazy.

Security Update 2007-009
Just note that this will install Flash Player 9.0.115.0. If you got any debugger version installed then this will overwrite it. For detailed information go to http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61798

Adobe Air beta 3, Flex 3 beta 3 and Brio beta

Look at this, Adobe AIR beta 3 and Flex 3 beta 3 are now available.

In case you have been living in the bushes Adobe Flex is a cross platform, open source framework for creating rich Internet applications that run identically in all major browsers and operating systems. On the other hand, Adobe AIR lets developers use their existing web development skills in HTML, AJAX, Flash and Flex to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop.

And we got BRIO beta. Brio is a web meeting service built with collaboration in mind for individual professionals and small businesses. With Brio, you can instantly communicate and collaborate through an easy-to-use, easy-to-access online personal meeting room. Built on Adobe's Flash platform, Brio operates inside most popular web browsers, so you can start a meeting without worrying if others have a compatible system or the right software.

Very cool stuff. Nowadays there is no way around Adobe if you engage in serious online application building! (No we don't work for Adobe but are avid fans of their technologies)
