Following the successful launch of version 1.5 of the company’s digital asset management software, Razuna now announces the availability of Razuna Enterprise Edition. This edition features a number of high performance enterprise features, specifically designed for enterprise needs.
Apart from minor changes to optimize the user experience, Razuna Enterprise Edition introduces these new features: Workflow, Rendering Farm and Akamai integration.
Razuna Enterprise Edition is now available and will be a released under a licensing model for businesses but remains free for universities and non-profit organizations. Existing Razuna users can also upgrade by using the newly released Razuna plugin feature. A feature, which also allows third party developers to develop their own plugins for Razuna.

“We have seen a steady increase in enterprise customers, who have opted to go for Razuna,” says CEO, Jens Strandbygaard. “We strive hard to keep things simple and provide exceptional value for money, and businesses have discovered that our platform more than fits their needs at a fraction of the cost for comparable systems. The only real lacking feature was workflow – so we listened and developed it.”
Apart from the workflow engine, Razuna released a rendering farm, which enables the customers to distribute the load of converting many images, audio files or videos to many servers in the backend.
“Razuna is designed and built on an enterprise architecture with J2EE as the main engine,” says founder and CTO, Nitai Aventaggiato. “So handling large volumes of files and concurrent users has never been an issue. The workflow just adds that final enterprise feature that allows large corporations to fully enjoy all the benefits of our technology.”
Razuna serves more than 2,000 customers worldwide and more than 60,000 users have downloaded the software in the past 12 months.
“The rendering farm is the result of a single customer, a major European broadcaster, who uses Razuna for the digital video library. As they need to convert thousands of videos on an almost daily basis, we developed the rendering farm to distribute the load to multiple rendering servers.”
Razuna’s customers come from all over the world with a majority in the US. But the company serves customers in almost every country in the world on a daily basis.
“Razuna is a highly successful SaaS and Open Source business,” says Jens Strandbygaard. “And with our keen focus on simplicity and value for money, we have created one of the most versatile and powerful digital asset management platforms in the market, whilst maintaining very competitive pricing.”
The most prominent new features of the Razuna Enterprise Edition are:
- Workflow Engine
Complete customizable workflow automation. Set up automated tasks and actions based events such as upload, delete, edit, move etc. Multiple actions can be triggered for a single event, and they can also be connected to specific folders.
- Rendering Farm
The rendering farms distributes the server load on one or more rendering servers, which will handle the process of converting images, video and audio files to other formats or sizes. This allows customers to upload and convert thousands of images, videos and audio files without putting unnecessary strain on the application or database servers.
- Akamai Plugin
Razuna user who use Akamai for storage can now seamlessly connect their Akamai account to Razuna and store their files with Akamai. It works by simply entering the Akamai account details through the plugin.
