User interface changes in Razuna

Building a software and especially the user interface to any software, is a constant process that is bound to undergo some changes from time to time. Here at Razuna, we are constantly listen to the Razuna community and see how we can implement some of the great ideas that come out of an open forum.

Today, we are happy to announce some changes to the user interface of Razuna. The overall concept was to make Razuna “lighter”, more intuitive and easier to navigate. In short, the principle of “less is more” has been applied as much as possible. Below we’re outlining some of them:

Files detail page

The files detail pages have undergone the most changes. We’ve have been thinking about this for a long time and think that the changes also help you to be more productive. We have combined many informations and put them into one section. Thus you will now find all the metadata and renditions in one convenient location. Also, the main info page features the most used details with the option to quickly edit the filename, description, keywords and the labels.

Folder navigation and the different views

Furthermore, the folder view is a page that you will see every time you enter a folder. Naturally, we have given this section some deep thoughts. Obviously, adding your files should be easy and thus, we’ve given the “add files” button a more prominent place. For the sake of “cleaning things” we’ve also put the folder settings into a separate section (only available to folder owners and administrators) and moved the three available different views into a sub menu. Speaking of views, we have beefed up the list view and the quick edit view a lot. The Quick Edit view has now the labels added as well. Check them out.

New entry page

The new entry page features a prominent “Add your files” button, our new introduction videos and the Razuna announcements (only on the hosted edition).

As an existing user of Razuna you might see that we have changed the folder icons on the left and have more space in the header section (this should also highlight your logo more). On the right, the “Add your files” button will let you upload any file quickly.

There are many more smaller adjustments, but these are the most prominent changes we have done to Razuna lately. All changes have already been applied to all accounts on our Razuna hosted edition and will be incorporated in the upcoming update to Razuna 1.5.
