Razuna 1.5: re-designed search and further enhancement to the folder view

While we are very close to the final Razuna 1.5 release we want to give you another glimpse into what has changed so far. In this post we highlight the re-designed search and some small but noteworthy enhancements to the folder view which will make working with your assets even easier.

Re-Designed Search and Folder Search

It is obvious that the search is an important (if not the most important) part of a Digital Asset Management Solution like Razuna. In our work for Razuna 1.5 we focused a lot on making the search better then ever. Since the beginning we have refined the search code, included more fields, even re-coded the whole search in order to meet the expectations of our users. Now, while this has been a steady work, we have also re-designed the search results page.

The search results are now aligned in tabs, so that you can quickly see how many assets types have been found. Just as in your normal folder view, you can now page back and forth in your results. Additionally, we’ve added a sorting option (also new in the folder view). Like before, you will find a “refine search” panel, but now it is aligned on top of your results, so you can quickly search within the results again or trigger a new search.

We understand that you actually also want to work with your assets and thus the all new selection options lets you select all assets (yes, all search results will be selected) with one click and then apply actions to it. In this way, our users have a powerful way to apply actions like move, batch, remove, etc. to a search result. Additionally, the option to drag and drop to the basket is now also available within the search results.

Enhancements to the folder view

The most notable change in the folder view are the changes to the folder navigation. You will now find the “Add files” link, “select all” and “search in folder” quickly accessible on top of your assets. Further actions are aligned in a drop down menu. Additionally, there is a new “sort by…” option available (this lets you sort your assets according to name, size, date added, etc.). Furthermore, the amount of assets for each asset type are now noted within the tab. The image below shows you the new folder view as of Razuna 1.5.

Select all and persistence of selections

Finally, Razuna 1.5 brings the option to really “Select all” assets and it will select all the assets within the folder or the search results. You will then be able to apply batch actions to all the assets. Furthermore, we’ve added the persistence of a selection, as well. In other words, you might select an asset on the first page and then move on to the second page. On the second page you select another asset. Previously, you would have lost the selection of the first page, now with Razuna 1.5 your selection will be saved.

There are many more exciting new features in Razuna 1.5 and we can’t wait to bring it to you. We are currently wrapping it up and will soon be able to bring the first Release Candidate to you. This should be within the coming days.
