How Open Source is developed – inspired Microsoft Server 2008
Over at the blog of Sam Ramji, director of the Open Source Software Lab at Microsoft, wrote an interesting piece about “How open source has influenced Windows Server 2008“.
If you are interested in the next version of Windows Server and are also into Open Source, I recommend that you read the post. It clearly states what they have “taken” from the Open Source community and how software is developed.
But one thing, that I get out of this post is that Open Source is not only how to develop and distribute software, but more a Business model. I guess, we will see more business models survive around the way how Open Source software has and is developed.
