We heart FuseBox

For our "soon to be announced" application we have been using the latest version of FuseBox together with the latest Version of ColdFusion and its integrated AJAX functionalities.

FuseBox allowed us to work with the MVC (Model-View-Controller) concept and using our CFC (ColdFusion Components) with the class and the new instantiate tags. Once we got used to how FuseBox calls objects and uses them, it made our development time faster and the coding more structured.

I know, that there are some people that don't like to use the XML circuit file definitions for the fuseactions, but I personally like the XML quite a lot. The latest FuseBox 5.5 should be covering a way to use FuseBox without the XML circuit files but it remains to be seen how well that will work. Personally, we don't see a benefit of not using the XML circuit file.

Anyhow, we will be happy to post some more news on our development and of course what our application is supposed to be doing after we are ready for revealing it.

What SixSigns is all about?

Hi there

So here we go (again). This is the first post in this blog of our company "SixSigns".  Now you might ask, what is SixSigns and who is behind SixSigns.

Purpose of Sixsigns
SixSigns is a privately held company with the commitment to build simple, but powerful, web applications. Now, we are not building "some" web applications that no one wants or some "me too" products. Our team is made of of some of the brains that are behind big web applications with thousand of users. Some members are building applications since 1996.

So, where can you see what we do and what we are up to? Currently, there is nothing else then this blog, we dont even have the graphics set up or any logo. All will come together, but we are hard at work for our first application which we will put in private alpha/beta testing soon.

Tools we use to build applications
Our team has knowledge in a lot of different languages, but we all have settled for the Adobe ColdFusion Application Server. If you don't know ColdFusion we advice you to run, yes don't walk, over to Adobe and get started with ColdFusion. You will not regret it. This actually brings me to another side of our business. We will provide ColdFusion hosting soon as well. Stay tuned for any updates in this regard.
